PROFESSOR ADRIANO VANZETTI
Professor Adriano Vanzetti founded and directed the Law Firm Vanzetti, mainly active in the field of intellectual property and competition, from 1966 to 2018.
Member of the Bar since 1959 and of the Supreme Court Bar since 1967, Professor Vanzetti began his university career in 1963, as Full Professor of IP Law at the University of Catania.
From 1964 to 1974, Professor Vanzetti was Full Professor of IP Law at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan, (School of Economics, where, from 1970 to 1974, he was also Dean. From 1974 to 2005 Professor Vanzetti was Full Professor of IP Law at the Law School of the Università Cattolica of Milan and from 2015 until 2018 Professor Vanzetti was Emeritus Professor of IP Law at the Law School of the Università Cattolica of Milan.
Professor Adriano Vanzetti also taught Private Law from 1962 to 1977, initially at the Bocconi University of Milan, then at School of Business Administration of the Università Cattolica of Milan and finally at Law School of the same Univeristy.
In 1972 he founded and was editor in Chief until 2018 of the Law Review "Giurisprudenza annotata di diritto industriale", which still today publishes and comments on almost all Italian and EU IP rulings and is an authoritative reference point for professionals, judges and legal scholars in the sector.
He was also President of S.I.S.P.I. - Italian Society for IP Studies -, co-author of the most widely used Italian handbook on IP Law, now in its seventh edition (Vanzetti - Di Cataldo, Manuale di diritto industriale,Milan, 2012), and author of numerous essays, articles and commentaries on IP Law. In 2004 two volumes of studies in IP Law written and collected by his students and other legal scholars in IP Law were presented to Adriano Vanzetti with two volumes in his honour.
Professor Vanzetti was member of many govermental commissions for the reform of Italian IP legislation and was, for many years, Vice President of the Giurì di autodisciplina pubblicitaria. He has also chaired at numerous conferences in the IP field.
In all the principal international guides to Law Firms (such as Chambers Global and Global Counsel), Professor Adriano Vanzetti was constantly ranked as leading individual and the firm he founded is among the leading firms in IP Law.
